A Women's Day-off
Unequal pay & the Pay Gap
A day-off, you say?

Women have an average of 4.5h a day of unpaid labor, compared to 2.8h of men.

Yes, something that the women of Iceland already initiated in 1975. For one day they laid down all their work, paid and unpaid. With the goal to make it visible how much work is actually being done by women and how crazy it is that we're not valuing this work at equal measure.

Bringing this initiative to other countries is a fun, but activist way to call for action.
What is the Gender Pay Gap?
In the EU white women still receive 13% an hour on average than men.
This equals almost two months of salary.
For women of colour this percentage is even higher.
The impact of the gender pay gap means that women earn less over their lifetimes; this results in lower pensions and a risk of poverty in old age.

And this is still happening in 2022!
